The County Needs Your Help!
McHenry County has retained the services of SRF Consulting Group Inc. to develop long range goals and objectives. The result will be an updated McHenry County Comprehensive Plan, which will be used to develop and amend the current county zoning ordinances. The first public meeting was held on December 18, 2014.

Christopher Clanahan, environmental/community planner reported on existing conditions and projections for McHenry County. A copy of this information is available by contacting Gregg Greenquist at 701-354-2401.

One of the encouraging projections is that McHenry County’s population is expected to grow by 58% in the next 20 years. What plans should be in place for this growth?

SRF is conducting a survey. A link has been emailed to county residents whose email addresses are known, in which the survey can be accessed, completed and submitted online. A pdf version of the survey will also be attached to allow paper copies to be printed and distributed, if need be. Residents who receive the email are asked to share the link with friends and family who reside in McHenry County. The link for the survey will also be posted on the McHenry County website at <>. For those individuals who do not have internet access, a copy of the survey may be obtained by contacting the County Auditor’s office at 537-5724. McHenry County residents are encouraged to complete the survey by April 1st.
Note: the online survey will allow only one submittal per device (i.e. computer, tablet, smartphone)

Tabulations will be completed after the survey deadline and a meeting will be scheduled to review the results with the public. Watch the paper for notice of that meeting. You can be part of making things happen. The county would like to thank you in advance for your participation.
Please click on the link below to access the survey.

We Nee
d Volunteers!!
The Granville Rural Fire Protection District is in need of your help.  If anyone is interested in learning more about becoming a firefighter or a responder for the department, please contact Anita Trana at 701-626-2297.  Meetings are held once a month to make sure the trucks are ready for emergencies as well as occasional training exercises performed with the equipment.  The volunteers respond to all emergencies, not only within the city limits but also within surrounding townships.  Without the support of our our volunteers, the closest responders would either be from Towner or Velva and a lot can happen within 15 minutes.  Please take time to consider this opportunity seriously.  We understand everyone is busy with work and life but security of knowing someone will be there when help is needed is priceless.
